Ooltewah Grew Fast. Its Houses Are Catching Up.

Ooltewah has been the fastest-growing part of Hamilton County for years — the area added a third more people between 2010 and 2020, and it hasn’t stopped. Most of that growth came with new construction, which means the housing here is young by the standards of most of Southeast Tennessee. Roughly seven in ten homes in the 37363 ZIP were built in 1990 or later, and more than half went up after 2000.

That shapes what a handyman actually does here, and it’s different from what we do twenty minutes up the road in Cleveland.

The homes built during Ooltewah’s boom are now hitting their first real maintenance wave. Nothing has failed. Things are just wearing.
