We’re not hiring yet. We will be — and when that happens, we’d rather be talking to people who already know what we’re building than posting an ad and hoping.

What We’re Building

Most handyman companies are one person with a truck, or a franchise with a call center in another state. Bucktooth is trying to be a third thing: a small company that runs like a good one.

That means real systems — scheduling that works, estimates built on site, pricing that doesn’t move, a warranty that means something. It means a craftsman shows up with what he needs and isn’t chasing paperwork at nine at night.

We’re growing, and the people who come in early will shape what this becomes rather than inherit it.

What We Value

Trust

The kind you earn on a Tuesday and spend on a Friday. With homeowners, that means the price doesn’t move and the work is what we said. With each other, it means what you tell me is what I’ll act on.

You’ll be in people’s homes when they’re not there. That’s not a small thing, and we hire for it before we hire for skill.

Excellence

Not perfectionism — the difference between adequate and right, and choosing right when nobody would notice either way.

Trim that closes tight. Tile that lines up at the corners. A drop cloth that goes down before the first tool comes out. It’s slower and it’s the whole business.

Family

Yours comes first. We schedule real hours, we finish when we said we’d finish, and nobody’s expected to work a Saturday because somebody upstream planned badly.

The plan is a company people stay at, and that only works if the job fits around a life instead of the other way around.

What We Look For

Skill, and the honesty to know where it ends. Nobody’s good at everything. Saying “that’s outside what I do well” is worth more than a repair we have to come back for.

Someone a homeowner is glad to see. You’ll spend as much time talking to people as working. Explaining what you found, in plain language, without making them feel stupid — that’s half the job.

Ownership. You’ll run your own days, your own truck, and your own relationships with the customers on your route. That’s real freedom and real responsibility, and it suits some people and not others.

Clean work habits. Tools where they belong, the site swept at the end of the day, the truck stocked in the morning.

Licensing is a plus, not a requirement. Tennessee limited plumbing and electrical licenses are held by individuals, not companies. If you hold one, it’s genuinely valuable here.

What to Expect

The tools to do the work properly. A vehicle, the equipment, and systems that keep the job moving instead of getting in the way. You shouldn’t be chasing paperwork at nine at night.

Support behind you. You walk the project and figure out what it needs. The pricing side is handled with you, not dumped on you.

Pay at the top of what this trade pays. We’d rather hire fewer people and pay them well than fill trucks with whoever’s available. The right craftsman is worth more than the market usually admits, and we intend to prove that.

A company that’s growing. The people who join early won’t be inheriting somebody else’s company. They’ll have shaped it.

Introduce Yourself

We’re not hiring today. When we are, we’d rather already know who you are.

Send a note — who you are, what you’re good at, what you’re looking for. No formal application, no resume required. If it’s a fit, we’ll keep it and we’ll reach out.
